AusBiotech 2008 is the premier biotechnology conference for the Asia Pacific region.

The AusBiotech 2007 Conference was a great success:

• 1373 participants attended from 29 countries
• 1965 participants attended the Conference and all Satellite Events
• 512 Presidents, VPs, CEOs, EOs, CFOs, MDs and CSOs from national and international companies
• Over 500 international participants including 142 from North America, 114 from Asia and 72 from Europe
• 2039 meeting requests  - 1015 confirmed meetings through the Business Matching Program
• 192 speakers including 87 international speakers
• BioIndustry Exhibition Hall showcased 142 exhibition booths

• International Biotechnology Investor Summit attracted over 160 guests and 14 international Angels and Investors
• Merck & Co., Inc. siRNA Delivery Symposium attracted over 60 guests
• MPI Research Symposium: Aiming for Preclinical Success attracted over 50 guests
• Compact Course for Internal Auditors – Induction to ISO13485 & Regulatory Auditing workshop, facilitated by TUV Rheinland Group attracted 27 guests
• Women in Biotech Symposium attracted 100 guests
• Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology (AIBN) facility tour attracted 172 guests
• Taiwan International Hospitality Network Night attracted over 80 guests

AusBiotech Ltd

AusBiotech 2008 is owned and managed by AusBiotech Ltd, the Australian Biotechnology Organisation.   AusBiotech is the national body for the biotechnology and life sciences industry in Australia.   AusBiotech members include biotech companies and organisations, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, investors, research institutes and governments.   AusBiotech provides a vibrant and energetic framework that brings together all of the relevant participants in the Australian biotechnology community.

AusBiotech 2008 is:

• on track to attract more delegates than last year’s 1400
• designing and developing a program with the assistance of industry leaders
• creating a theme and image that will attract world leaders in all key focus areas that bring success in the biotechnology sector, and
• providing an advanced technology Business Matching program
 
AusBiotech 2008 will feature:

• Conference - with a program extending over three days featuring plenary and concurrent sessions;

• BioIndustry Exhibition - where participants have the opportunity to promote their businesses and products in a professionally presented and marketed exhibition display area. This area is also the venue for all network functions and event catering, such as morning/afternoon teas and lunches;

• Business Matching Program - giving delegates the opportunity to update their company profile in the biopartnering system and request appointments with other delegates/company representatives attending the event in a meeting room atmosphere on a half hour or hourly basis; and

• Satellite Events - where companies will have the opportunity to cooperatively partner with AusBiotech and provide delegates and the industry with one-on-one and specifically focused seminars and workshops. 

BioIndustry Exhibition

The AusBiotech BioIndustry Exhibition is Australia’s largest biotechnology exhibition. The AusBiotech 2007 Exhibition featured more than 142 booths and more than 300 representatives showcasing the latest in business and product services, equipment, instrumentation, devices and state-of-the-art technology.

The Exhibition has been designed to maximise networking opportunities and exposure for exhibitors by holding all networking and meal break functions and several social functions within the exhibition hall. Exhibiting is a must for any company involved in the industry!
